History

The Austin-Central Texas Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association was formed in August 2006 with 12 charter members. The Chapter serves Austin and the Central Texas area including Bastrop, Buda, Kyle, Bryan, College Station, Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, Georgetown, Johnson City, Killeen, San Marcos, Temple, Waco, and Wimberley.

Members represent nonprofit organizations, public agencies, businesses and consultants. The goal of the Chapter is to bring together grant professionals to share ideas, enhance learning opportunities, and increase awareness of funding resources.

Types of Meetings

GPA Austin meetings can be grouped into the following categories, all of which are intended to benefit grant writers and improve charitable efforts in Central Texas:

Foundation Presentations
In these meetings, representatives from local corporations and foundations will talk about their funding priorities and grants process. Grant writers come away with a better idea about how to align their proposals with the foundation's interests.

Professional Development
These presentations focus on helping grant writers improve how they develop relationships, write, create budgets, and manage grants.

Networking & Relaxation
Occasionally, our chapter will offer roundtables where grant professionals can discuss pressing issues and network.

Meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month at the Regional Foundation Library (address below). Parking is free.
